VOLUNTEER FOR THE NYC MARATHON, NOVEMBER 4, 2018

The Jersey Shore Running Club has supported the finish line of this world class event for decades. For runners and non-runners alike, this is a one of a kind experience. You will receive many thanks from the runners.

Our area at the finish line is currently closed to new volunteers. So you will need to get a profile (keep reading) and email me your name and address so we can get with NYRR and add you to our group.

Our group works the VIP Hospitality area of the finish line. Various tasks keep the group busy for the day. We provide food and drink, retrieve their bags, spot them coming through the finish and escort finishers to our tent.  

The atmosphere is impossible to describe without being there. The size of the event, finishers, pallets of food lining the finish area, medals, interpreters, medical staff, Achilles’ athletes, the pros, the 6 hour finishers, etc. This is maximum running excitement, just ask a past volunteer.

Also, if you are an aspiring NYC marathoner, the club will get a guaranteed (not free) entry to the 2019 NYC Marathon. We will raffle based on volunteers who work and are interested in running. It is not transferable. 

OK, so you want to be a volunteer. The following is how you get in;  

• Go to mynyrr.com and create a free profile.
• Photo is required, think passport photo (no sunglasses, no hats, etc).
• Our area is closed to new volunteers, so email me your name and email address.
• We will contact NYRR directly and add you to our registered volunteers.
• For those travelling from the shore we have a bus leaving from the commuter parking lot at GSP Exit 109
• Bus leaves at 8:00 SHARP, don’t arrive to find tire tracks out of the lot!
• Cost is $10 for volunteers, $40 for spectators (if room is available)
• Bus leaves Central Park about 5:00 for the return trip.
