Relay and Full Marathon

Relay packets have been mailed out to team captains.  
Individual Marathoners bibs are also mailed - do not go to the bib pickups for marathon bibs.

Another Successful RunAPalooza!

Runners were treated to on and off light rain and a north east breeze, on the cool morning of April 22, for the 21st Annual event.  Congrats to all finishers, and to the dedicated race committee, led by Bob Both.

JSRC Lake Como 5K Romp

JSRC Lake Como 5K Romp was held Saturday, April 29. Congrats to participant and THANKS to VOLUNTEERS
Proceeds from the Lake Como Romp benefit Elks' Camp Moore for Children with Special Needs as well as the Lake Como Giving Tree.

Special Olympics Track and Field Meet CANCELLED

The 2017 Monmouth-Ocean County Special Olympics Track and Field Meet scheduled for Saturday, May 13 at Long Branch High School has been CANCELLED due to weather.

The Jersey Shore Running Club has been volunteering at this meet for over 20 years!

We need at least 30 (preferably more) volunteers to help with escorting athletes, scoring, timing, awards and other tasks associated with the event. Volunteers should plan on being at the high school by 8:30 a.m.. The meet is usually over by 2 or 3 p.m. If you can't be there by 8:30 or can't stay the entire time, that's fine. Just let us know ahead of time so we can be sure we have appropriate coverage.

Online registration for volunteers is now open. You may sign up here.
If you are coming with family or friends, please make sure everyone is signed up so we have an accurate count.

Parents - if your children require community service hours, this is an excellent opportunity for them. Please answer "Yes" for the community service letter question when you sign them up. That way we know who to reach out to after the event.

Skies Clear for Run for the Royals

Looks like Sunday is a great running day for the Run with the Royals 5K on Long Branch Boardwalk. All funds raised directly support elementary school athletes at St. James School.

6th Annual Run With the Royals 5K is back at the Long Branch Boards! Proudly sponsored by MARINE CONTAINER SERVICES, Inc. this fun, RUN or WALK fundraiser event for the whole family is a Mother's Day Event. Enjoy a run or walk with Mom (or in her honor) along the beautiful Jersey Shore oceanfront.  From the Royals 5K, find your way to a Brunch Deal at one of the many great restaurants in and around Pier Village, or join us back at the Celtic Cottage for some Irish Music and fun!!

Great AFTER-PARTY at Celtic Cottage will include live music, prizes, food, 50/50 and a free drink for all registered runners. 0.5 Mile Kids Run will be held prior. Day-of Registration $30.00 begins 7:00 am, 5/14/17.  

Thorne Run - Finale Fifteen - held Sunday May 21

Great weather for fifteenth and final Michael W. Thorne Scholarship 4 Mile Run/Walk, on Sunday May 21st ! All good things come to an end, and thus is the case with this race - which has enjoyed 15 years as a successful "runner's race" local favorite.

Global Running Day is a day for people around the world to celebrate the joys of running.

Participation is easy—just pledge to take part in some type of running activity on June 7, 2017. It can be a solo lap around the block, a long run with friends, or even a game of tag with your kids. The key is to share your passion for the sport and inspire others to get moving.
